Welcome to the website of Kiribiltxo Crafts!.
We create aluminium complements, original and funny, like earrings, rings, clasps and diadems... In this page you have the opportunity to see our work, the material we use, the diferent salepoints and our catalogue.
This project started six years ago, playing with forms, colours and design continously. After coursing Arts at the university we chose this craft to ventilate our creativity, improving and enhancing our techniques and form.
Our work is based mostly in the form of a spiral, hence the name: Kiribiltxo which means small spiral in the Basque language.
The themes of our work are a result of these last years where we have been playing with forms, organic elements, vegetals, and insectlike forms... Parting from these forms we adapt each peace to the particularities each one requieres.
In our work you will find earrings, rings, clasps, necklaces, bracelets. We sell these in various shops in reduced lot, since they are all made by hand.
We also produce by demand pieces and orders adapted to specific nesecities.
The main material es aluminium anodized coloured thread, and in a lesser amount copper, brass and steel for the qualities they offer.
Anodizing is a technique to protect the aluminium. With this treatment the color sticks to the aluminium in a very resistent layer.
The material is very moldable, making it very usefull in crafts, but on the other hand this quality creates a problem because the product needs to be unmoldable as a finished product. That is why we use different techniques like knotting and linking. The end result is a very resistent piece.
Very soon we will start selling through the internet. Easy and comfortable to place orders and receive them at home.
Another way is by sending us a mail, or by looking at the diferent salepoints we have.
And finally, every first saturday of the month you can find us at the flea market in the street 2 de Mayo, in Bilbao. There you can see diferent creations made by young artists. Don´t hesitate to pass by!
